Facility Team Lead

The Facility Team Lead is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day performance of building maintenance staff,
and ensuring all work orders are completed efficiently, on time, and to company standards.

This role provides hands-on leadership in managing maintenance activities across multiple properties, reallocating staff as needed to meet operational demand while maintaining coverage and efficiency.
 

key responsibilities

  • ensure buildings are safe and compliant to city and company standard
  • oversee daily work order assignments and completions, ensuring all tasks are closed out by end of day
  • monitor workload across properties and reassign staff based on priorities and demand
 
  • coordinate and supervise maintenance managers,  technicians to ensure quality and timely work
  • address staff related performance issues, including attendance, punctuality, overall performance, and attitude
  • respond to building emergencies, coordinate internal response, and engage external contractors when necessary
 
  • manage contractor relationships for maintenance and repair work, including negotiating pricing and verifying performance
  • ensure cost control by reviewing quotes and verifying that spending aligns with company standards
  • support the development and implementation of a preventative maintenance program to reduce reactive repairs
 
  • ensure routine reoccurring inspections are conducted for safety and compliance by technician
  • provide regular updates to leadership building conditions, staffing, and performance issues
  • promote teamwork, accountability, and consistent service standards across all buildings
 
  • responsible for the care, maintenance, and inventory of all supplies and equipment
  • ensure proper functionality of building systems, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, elevator, roofing systems
  • conduct regular safety inspections and follow up with site staff on monthly property safety inspections
 

who you are

  • Bachelor's degree in facility management, business administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in facility management, including staff and budget management.
  • Proficiency in mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems.
 
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure and in emergency situations.
  • Knowledge of applicable regulations and safety standards.
 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software programs.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and proof of automobile insurance coverage.
